He Will Rejoice

Good Morning family! I hope your morning goes well, it’s 7:53 here so that makes it 6:53 back home…which means you’re probably getting ready to head to school for the day.

I don’t mind traveling, however the thing I like least about it is that I don’t get to be with you guys. I miss you so much when I’m gone, yet that makes coming home even sweeter.  I hope you guys find encouragement in this verse today.

The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”

Zephaniah 3:17 NKJV

There are so many verses that show us where we sit in relation to God, verses that challenge us to be more active in our walk, verses that help us see our sin in the light of truth, and verses that stir up action in us. Of course these verses are very helpful in building us up and helping us walk in a right relationship with God. Yet, sometimes we find verses that are simply encouragement! That is what I find in this verse, encouragement!

I love this verse because it shows us distinct attributes of our loving Father in heaven.

  1. He is all around us
  2. He is our savoir
  3. He rejoices about us with gladness and singing!
  4. His love calms us

All of these things should encourage us to walk in a way that is honoring to him!

Knowing that He is all around us will help us overcome those feelings of being alone.

Knowing that He is our savoir will encourage us in the fact that we have someone looking out for us, someone that is willing to do ANYTHING for us, even send His perfect Son to die on the cross for us.

Knowing that he rejoices in us with gladness and singing will encourage us as we live for him. Everyone likes to hear “Great Job”! But can you imagine what “Great Job” sounds like coming from God?! What a glorious, joyous noise it would be to hear how He cheers for us and rejoices in us when we walk in His light!

Knowing that His love calms us can help us in times when we are feeling nervous or overwhelmed. God’s love is great, and powerful, but calming and serene all at the same time.

I love you guys and hope that you get some time to meditate on these words today. Praise God and thank him for how much he loves us, and draw encouragement from these words as you walk through the day!
