But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.

Jude 1:20-21 NLT

Hola Mi Familia!     <<<That’s for you son 😉

As always, it’s really cool to see how the Spirit lines things up.

I got back from lunch and was looking at the verse of the day on BibleStudyTools.com and this is the one that came up! In this verse we are encouraged to build each other up in the faith, pray together (in the power of the Spirit), and await the mercy of Jesus. So this makes me think, what can we do to encourage each other? Well, immediately I thought about meeting up with a friend for lunch. I think he was encouraged and I know for sure that I was. It’s great to be able to have a break from the busy day and spend some time talking about God and getting to know each other better.

But there are other ways we can encourage each other and build each other up in the faith. Sending each other encouraging words (like these), complimenting each other, sharing what God is showing us in our study, praying as a family. All of these things help build each other up in our faith, and this is so important in a time where Satan seeks to distract us and get us off track. We need to resist the devil and not give him a foothold, and building each other up is a great way to keep from opening the door to Satan.

This doesn’t just happen at home either, we should be intentional about finding people at church, school and work who we can encourage and build up in God. We can say God Bless You, rather than simply thank you. Learn what people need prayer for and diligently follow through to pray for those things. We can offer to help a friend in need or simply call someone just to encourage them. Providing meals, helping with kids, and sometimes even a simple text, whatever it may be, there are many ways we can encourage and build others up, we just need to be intentional about doing it.

So that’s my challenge, Son, you find someone at school you can build up, Honey, maybe it’s your family, or one of the ladies from Church. Of course, there’s always encouraging each other at home…something we don’t do enough. Let’s make it a point today to step out in faith and be intentional about encouraging others in the Word of God!

I love you guys, see you in a while.
